PDF of Male Bondage Hood pattern now available...

By popular request I've digitized the pattern for a male hood with the new 2-part tongue and split-chin design. This is a great pattern to use for hoods in heavier leather. For a PDF of the male hood pattern, click here.

    1. Ookamii, it's about 3-3.5 oz weight for the heavy leather hood using the pattern above. I don't think I've used any garment or chap weight leather that is heavier than that. Even for the molded veg-tan leather hoods I do, it's a 6-7 oz. weight - and that's extremely heavy for a hood.

    1. Cool, this should be a good pattern to use for that type of leather!

  3. Is it possible to make this kind of bondage gear out of some other leather that you can sew with a normal household sewing machine?

    1. You can sew this on any machine that is strong enough to punch the needle through the leather, and feed it smoothly through, but for the best results I recommend using a machine with a walking foot at the very least. I struggled with a portable Singer for years before getting a heavy duty professional machine, and it made a world of difference.

  4. Hey Christopher. First thank you very much for your pattern :-). I've printed and cut out the pieces now. But I'm wondering what's the concept of the mini-tongue. Does it connect on one side the rear panel and the tongue while on the other side the tongue directly connects to the rear panel? If this is the idea I still don't get the benefit from that... can you please explain me what's your idea behind this?

The second question is about the triangle at the front panel chin area: do I need to cut that out or just ignore that triangle?

Thanks in advance for your help. Sorry I'm a total beginner...

    Best,
    Pascal

  5. Hey Pascal,
The idea behind the mini tongue is to keep the hair from being pulled through when you're pulling the laces tight. Without it, your laces will pull the hair through every time. For connection, check out this tutorial (it shows the placement of the small and large tongues):

The triangle part at the chin is actually a dart. It's to pinch the leather at the chin to make it form to the shape of the chin better - it's needed when you're working with heavier, less stretchy leather. You would stitch along the dart, then trim and glue it flat before sewing the 2 halves together. Hopefully that makes sense. Just let me know if you get stuck...
