Tokyo Gore Police - Wow...

Just saw Tokyo Gore Police, after seeing some animated GIFs online and searching to find out what the hell it was I had just seen... The GIF I saw was a short clip of the "dog girl" character, a pour soul who had been transformed by the corrupt police into a sort of gimped-out amputee/sex slave who walks around on stumps mounted into samurai sword prosthesis. The climax of the entire movie is a frenetic battle scene between the dog girl and our heroine.

The IMDB synopsis: "Set in a future-world vision of Tokyo where the police have been privatized and bitter self-mutilation is so casual that advertising is often specially geared to the "cutter" demographic, this is the story of samurai-sword-wielding Ruka and her mission to avenge her father's assassination. Ruka is a cop from a squad who's mission is to destroy homicidal mutant humans known as "engineers" possessing the ability to transform any injury to a weapon in and of itself."

The beautiful Eisi Shiina plays the lead character of Ruka.

The costumes are very exaggerated comic-book style. Love the creativity and the over-the-top feel.
Strange and bizarre characters abound in this movie. More than a few will stick in your head afterwards. My brain kept arguing with itself during most of the movie - "that's brilliant/ weird/twisted/disgusting/sexy." All of the above. At once.
The dog suit itself had a lot of great detail and fetish emblems: the rings, buckles, straps and lacing. My hat is off to the costume designer.

I think for hood, gasmask and enclosure fetishists out there, the whole breathing apparatus for the dog girl is quite nice.

Flying amputee samurai pet-girl attacking? What's not to love...

There is an "unmasking" of the dog girl in the movie, and the face you see is Cay Izumi, who is credited in the part.

She currently performs as a burlesque dancer in Tokyo and around the world as part of a group called "Tokyo Delores".

If you can tolerate the stylized Tarantino-esqe bloody violence it's worth checking out Tokyo Gore Police just for the creativity and bizarre quality of the characters and costumes, and of course the gratuitous shots of poor dog girl strutting her stuff...

Karen Hsiao - Stunning Harness Top Pix

One great thing about working with Karen Hsiao is that she'll send me emails sharing the things she's working on currently, the stuff she's shooting. Just quick iPhone shots. Like the images below. Beautiful model. Hooded, harnessed and dripping with fetishism. Gorgeous lighting and artsy composition. And I think to myself: "Damn, I'm a lucky bastard". And now you are too, because I get to share these pictures with you. Please enjoy...

And thanks, Karen and Mika, for sharing the photos with us!

Zipped Harness Top

Got to work on a harness top a few nights ago. More fun with straps! It's part of the ongoing series of pieces I've beek working on with the amazing and talented artist/photographer Karen Hsiao. The cool thing was since it needed to fit just right, (and we were going with a zipper closure), she came over and I basically built the harness on her.

That's one way to ensure a perfect fit...

It came out pretty cool, and I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with it!

Head and Body Harness in Black Leather

A brief look at the strappy hood and body harness project...

We start with the leather and a straightedge.

Cut a bunch of strips. 1.625" wide.

Turn and sew the edges. Use the edge-guide. It helps.

 First side done:
You'll end up with a whole bunch of straps:
Neatly wound up:
Next, cut the other parts. Collar, arm and leg openings, crotch piece.
Rivet 'em together.
 Keep riveting...
Work your way around the side and back.
 Clips help.
More clips.

Now for the hood. Rear opening first:
 Then the straps.
You'll need a round strap for the top:

 Glue and fold before sewing.

 Tape in place, then rivet.

Front strap, riveted:

 Tape side strap in place...

 ...and rivet.
 Lots of rivets!
 You're done.
Have fun with your new toys!
