Cobalt Blue Butterfly Straitjacket Beauty Shots...

I love the way this butterfly straitjacket turned out.

It's the first time I made a butterfly jacket with an attached hood, which gives it a clean line and close fit along the neck. There's no double layer, where the hood meets the collar. I even think I can go tighter on the neck next time, especially with this soft leather.

It's also the first time I tried out detachable crotch straps, which have some unique benefits: namely the ability to remove the straps completely if you don't need them, but also to move the buckle part to the front or the back, depending on the position. If you have you slave laying down, the buckles work better on the front side so they won't dig into her rear end!

The crotch straps also are calling for an added harness of some kind to hold a Hitachi Magic Wand in just the right spot...

The good news about the straps held in place with snaps is that after a couple of test runs none of the snaps came loose or un-snapped. I am thinking this might work as an ongoing solution. The only drawback is there is a fair amount of work to make all the attachment points, buckles and snap sections. Add in the extra leather you need to create all the connections, and the removable strap option will add to the cost, vs. the strap that is simply riveted permanently to the jacket.

Now if I can just find this leather on sale again...
